This is a sculpture I would visit on my way to work through the Welford Road Cemetery in Leicester. The ivy draped over the steps is textured to give a 3d effect. I repainted this image as my first attempt was a daytime scene. I looked at it for a few months and knew it didn’t feel right, even with a moody sky. Once I’d turned it into night and added the moon, it properly portrayed the stillness that it warranted.
